Soybean Oil

The American Heart Association recommends eating tofu and other forms of soybeans, canola, walnut and flaxseed, and their oils. These contain alpha-linolenic acid (LNA), which can become omega-3 fatty acid in the body. The ways that omega-3 fatty acids reduce cardio vascular disease risk are still being studied.  However, research has shown that they inhibit blood clotting, thereby reducing heart attack risk, and control body bio-chemicals that reduce inflammation and promote healing. Soybean oil and canola are the only common vegetable oils that contain omega-3s. Soybean oil is valued for its neutral flavor, contains no cholesterol and is a simple way to add healthy omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids into the diet.
